IN MEMORY OF
"Paddy"
Paddington
April 26, 1986- August 15, 2000

Paddy was given to me for my 15th birthday and became more of a brother to me than a dog.   I named him Paddington after the famous bear since he seemed to resemble him and Paddy was born in England.   He had the greatest personality and always kept us laughing with his sneaky, clever and hilarious personality.

As I grew up and had children, he protected and loved them with all his heart.  Each new child he considered a new member of his pack.  He lived a wonderful life and due to his failing frail body, he had to be put to rest.  He now frolics in Heaven peacefully.  We miss him dearly and he will always be in our hearts and in our wonderful memories.
Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.   Do not break my spirit with a stick,  for though I may lick your hands between blows,  your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.  Speak to me often for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, as you must know from the fierce wagging of my tail when the sound of your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
Please take me inside when it is cold and wet,  for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to the bitter elements.   I ask no greater glory than the priviledge of sitting at your feet.   Keep my bowl filled with fresh water for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.  Feed me clean food so that I may stay well to play, romp, to do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And my friend, when I am very old and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going, I am not having any fun.  Please see to it that my life is taken gently.  I shall leave this earth knowing that my last breath I draw, that my fate was always safest in your hands.
